Show transcript — Cascade Linking Retractable Banner Stand

0:07 — Introducing the Cascade

Hello and welcome to the Trade Show Joe video series. I'm Dan Riley. Today we're looking at a retractable banner stand called the Cascade.

It has aluminum construction and comes in different sizes. The widths described here are 24, 36, 48 and 60 inches. The example is 36 inches wide. Standard height is eight feet, or 96 inches, with options for adapting the height.

1:05 — Construction, leveling feet and shorter displays

The unit is made almost entirely of durable aluminum, making it lightweight but strong. A spring-loaded roller mechanism sits inside, and the design allows graphics to be exchanged as needed.

Small adjustable feet screw in or out of the base to help level the stand on uneven surfaces.

We can adapt a unit for tabletop use by modifying the pole height and accounting for a shorter graphic, such as 48 inches rather than 96 inches. Some customers use separate short and long poles, with artwork designed so the visible section works at either height.

2:34 — Vinyl and fabric graphics

We use different printing processes depending on the media. Vinyl is commonly used as the more economical option. Dye-sublimation fabric is another choice.

The retractable graphic works somewhat like an inverted window blind: it pulls upward from the base to the height determined by the support pole.

3:17 — Replacement parts and repair

The unit is described as field repairable. If a side component breaks or a foot is lost, we can generally help supply replacement parts.

Most components go together simply, without special skills or tools. I'll now demonstrate the unit in its normal configuration.

4:00 — Components and telescoping pole

The Cascade has four main components: the base, graphic, pole and bag.

The pole holds the graphic upright. Its lower sections are connected by a bungee cord, while the top is telescopic with a twist-lock adjustment.

The fully extended height described here is 96 inches. If needed, the pole can be modified to a shorter length for a tabletop application.

5:02 — Raising and supporting the banner

The base has an opening that accepts the pole.

If reaching the full height is difficult, you can connect the pole to the top of the graphic first. An insert label indicates how the pole fits. Use the pole to raise the graphic vertically, then seat the pole into the base mechanism.

The example shown uses fabric. Full-color dye-sublimation fabric and full-color vinyl are both options discussed in this review.

6:35 — Linking stands into a larger presentation

Customers can place these stands side by side to create a larger presentation. With artwork designed to span the whole arrangement, a single image can extend across several stands.

For example, three 36-inch stands positioned flush together can create a presentation about nine feet wide, offering an alternative to a tension fabric or traditional pop-up display.
